Creatively Portable: Creative D80 Bluetooth Speakers
There has been a great departure since the not-so-good old days where having a full-blast sound system involves getting entangled in a bunch of cables and an inflexible and rigidly attached setup, at that. Sure, it is still different if you have your home theater system with 3D at home. But what do you make of those moments where you want to recreate a decent sound scenario outdoors? Bluetooth speakers serve to address that need. More recently, Creative has an ultra creatively designed solution.
Put together a decent price, a splash of neon color, Bluetooth technology, and a desire for a portable sound system and what do you get? It will have to be Creative’s new D80 bluetooth speakers.
To be quite honest, it is not much different from Creative’s previous D-0series bluetooth speakers, save for the more reasonable price this present model has to offer. If you already have D80’s predecessors, you might want to stick to your model and not trade it in for this one. It does boast of 2 3″ drivers in full range for a better audio experience and an AUX-in feature integrated in it, as well. If you find yourself strapped for cash, this model has got a good deal for you already.
It did help that the color of this model reminds me of happy days in the park and bubblegum. It has a pretty girly vibe to it, if you ask me. The design did make it stand out compared to the other drab Bluetooth speaker models that have been released by Creative in the not-so-distant past. Not to say that black-colored models do not appeal to some people who value the functionality, but a little effort on attractive packaging certainly does not hurt the product at all.
The model is quite supportive of A2DP/AVRCP, even. Since it is a Bluetooth speaker, it is ultra flexible in accommodating famous Bluetooth ready devices such as the iPhone, Blackberry, and Android. But just like human individuals who are more inclined to fit certain personality types, the Creative D80 Bluetooth speaker also has its optimum performance when paired with its ideal partner. That will have to be no less than Creative’s Zen Style M300 player, the media player Creative released recently with Bluetooth streaming music capacity.
The one downside, however, is that it does not capture bass as well as other types of speakers. You might not find the heart-thumping woof sound from the model, but then again, when you are outdoors, it is hardly possible for those nuances in sound to be heard well.
The good portable sound system in this relatively lethal combination is not as superior as those speakers attached securely in our homes, but it is enough to turn heads or, more appropriately, bob heads to the beat of the music.
Creative can certainly use more creativity with their Bluetooth speaker features in their upcoming releases.
But for now, you can face the music with flair if you get yourself one of these affordable, pastel-colored babies.
